WELCOME TO THE SHASTA STIMULUS TEAM WEB SITE This web site is designed to provide information about American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding that becomes available for a variety of projects in Shasta County. Some of these funds are allocated directly to certain jurisdictions based on their population, but most funds are approved based on a competitive grant application process. Most of the ARRA funding is coming down through existing federal programs and each has its own criteria and time-lines. Fundamentally, however, grant funding application are always better served if they can be leveraged by other resources and if it can be shown that there are strong partnerships and alliances among the various local agencies and jurisdictions that are interested in the funding. Whether it be transportation improvements, workforce training, energy efficiency, education or infrastructure, this web site is intended to specifically delineate where the funds are being spent, which federal programs are funding the projects and to the extent possible, how many jobs are being created. The web site will also provide links to many of the programs that are funding ARRA grants as well as a listing of both pending and approved grants for Shasta County. This information will be updated on an ongoing basis. |
